Wednesday, May 18, 2022

Walking out of Kibbutz Merom Golan, we will hike up to Mount Bental, with its 360 degree views of Israel and Syria, then transfer by bus to explore the site of Ein Keshatot (Um el-Kanatir), where an ancient synagogue has been reconstructed through computer simulation. After lunch, the bus will bring us to Tel Saki, where we will view the former Syrian outpost that was the scene of one of the most intense battles of the Yom Kippur War.


Thursday, May 19, 2022

We will transfer by bus to Kibbutz Mevo Hama. We will walk along the clifftop promenade to Kfar Haruv, ending at Mitzpe HaShalom, the Peace Vista. After lunch, we will ride the bus to Kibbutz Afik and explore the Ein Pik natural spring.


Friday, May 20, 2022

We will ride the new cable car up Mount Hermon, Israel’s tallest peak, and hike to Gva’ot Ha’krav – “the Hills of the Battle,” in memory of the soldiers who fell liberating Mount Hermon. After lunch, we will take the bus down the mountain to the Tel Dan Nature Reserve, featuring Nahal Dan, one of the tributaries of the Jordan River, before returning to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat.

We will transfer by bus to the Hula Nature Reserve, where we will enjoy a moderate hike. After lunch, we will ride the bus to the Golan Heights, where we will hike down Nahal Gilbon (the Jilaboon River), with its Devora and Gilbon waterfalls. We will then transfer by bus to our hotel.


Monday, May 23, 2022

We will enjoy a hike in the Gamla Nature Reserve followed by a water hike at Majraseh Nature Reserve, in the Bethsaida Valley on the northeast shore of the Kinneret Sea. After lunch, we will drive south by bus and transfer to our hotel.

Advanced Hike


Wednesday, May 18, 2022

After transferring by bus to Nahal Samach, we will hike west and then south along the Golan Trail. We will visit the Syrian bridge and diversion channel en route to Ein Keshatot (Um el-Kanatir), where an ancient synagogue has been reconstructed through computer simulation. After lunch, we will hike east to Nahal El Al, with its views of the White and Black Waterfalls, then hike south following Ein Kif. We will end our hike near the town of Avnei Eitan, where we will meet the bus for a transfer back to the hotel.


Thursday, May 19, 2022

We will transfer by bus to the lower Golan Heights. On the outskirts of Kibbutz Afik, we will begin to hike along Nahal Fik, passing the natural spring of Ein Pik. We will then head south along the Golan Trail to the Nahal Meitzar Nature Reserve. After lunch, we will continue hiking along the Golan Trail, ending at Route 98 north of Mevo Hama.


Friday, May 20, 2022

We will transfer by bus to the shoulder of Mount Hermon, Israel’s tallest peak, near the memorial to the IDF soldiers who fell liberating Mount Hermon. We will then hike down the mountain via Mount Kahal and Ein Kahal, hiking along Nahal Guvta and Nahal Hazuri to the Nimrod Fortress. After lunch, we will take the bus to Nahal Hermon, where we will explore the Banias Nature Reserve before returning to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat.

We will transfer by bus to the Hula Nature Reserve and enjoy hiking the “Floating Trail.” After lunch, we will hike from the Hula via Yesud Hama’ala (a “moshava” established in 1883), southward along the Jordan River and eastward along Nahal Gilbon (the Jilaboon River), with its Devora and Gilbon waterfalls. We will then transfer by bus to our hotel.


Monday, May 23, 2022

We will transfer by bus to the Hexagons Pool (B’rechat Hameshushim) on the Golan. We will then hike to the Majraseh Nature Reserve, in the Bethsaida Valley on the northeast shore of the Kinneret Sea. After lunch, we will drive south by bus and transfer to our hotel.
