Frequently Asked Questions

As a registered 501(c)(3) organization in the United States, the National Ramah Commission CANNOT issue Canadian tax receipts. Thus, in order to receive an appropriate tax receipt, Canadian donors must donate to a Canadian organization – in this case, Camp Ramah in Canada. Your GENERAL fundraising page sends money to the National Ramah Commission, and your CANADIAN fundraising page sends money to Camp Ramah in Canada (to support the Bike Ride and Hiking Trip).
Cheques should be made payable to “Camp Ramah in Canada,” and should clearly specify the participant’s name and “bike ride” or “hiking trip” in the memo line. Cheques should be mailed to the National Ramah Commission at 3080 Broadway, New York, NY 10027. This will ensure that the donation is appropriately credited to your fundraising account.
Your GENERAL fundraising page will be the official tally of your fundraising progress. When someone makes a donation to your CANADIAN fundraising page, we will add that amount to your GENERAL fundraising page. As this is a manual process, please allow 1-2 business days for Canadian donations to be posted on your GENERAL fundraising page.
Please contact David Offit, Bike Ride and Hiking Trip Coordinator, at (212) 678-8953, and he will be happy to walk you through the entire process over the phone.
