Ride Day Two | The Journey North

Karen BrierNorthern Israel Trip 2015

Another wonderful cycling adventure in Northern Israel, as we left Akko and the Mediterranean coast and biked into the steep hills of the Naftali mountain range. The reward for our climbing came as we enjoyed magnificent mountain top views of the Galil and Golan, before our descent into the Hula Valley. Many of us visited the ancient synagogue at Bar’am and the recently reborn Hula Lake which feeds the Kinneret, all on our way to the beautiful Kibbutz HaGoshrim, just outside the northern town of Kiryat Shmona, near the Lebanese border.

One more day of intense cycling before we all enjoy a restful Shabbat together.

We are thrilled that our supporters continue to raise funds for Tikvah, now more than $400,000, with our goal of $450,000 very much in sight.

The sentiment all around the group is unanimous: It’s great to be biking, it’s great to be together as a Ramah community, and it’s great to be in Israel.
